I met up with Nicaj Pjerin and his family in the lobby of the Royal Towers at Atlantis. Right away, I learned they were world travelers. This was their second time in The Bahamas. This trip felt different though. Atlantis was running a special they couldn’t pass up, and they were ready to make it count.
We started the session near the pool, but we had to move quickly because we were losing light. We made it to the beach just in time. The sunset gave us one of those skies you only get for a few minutes. Waves crashed hard while I tried to hold my strobe in place. I almost lost it to the ocean.
From there, we moved over to the bridge for a few strong portraits with the Atlantis towers glowing behind them. It was quiet and the family really settled into the moment. We wrapped up at the flying fish fountain after the sun had gone down. The statues lit up green, and the family stood still and proud.
What was supposed to be a 30-minute session turned into a full hour. But it was worth every extra minute.
I’m always grateful when I meet families who are present, open, and willing to roll with the process. This crew made the whole evening feel smooth and natural.
